The Corner: Health & Wellbeing Services for Young People

The Corner Drop-in offers a wide range of health, information and support services to young people aged 11-19 in the Dundee area.

Sexual health services available at the Corner include pregnancy testing; condom distribution/C-Card; full sexually transmitted infection screening (STI) which includes testing for Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, Syphilis and HIV; a wide range of contraception including emergency contraception (the morning after pill) the pill, patch, injection, implant (the rod).

Support U/Support U+ services are also available for young people covering a range of health and emotional wellbeing issues.

one2one offers an online chat service with a cool2talk worker, this week between 4pm and 5pm on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Men Only Tayside (MOT) (Perth and Dundee)

Together, we provide sexual health clinics for men who have sex with men (MSM) and men who have sex with men and women (MSMW). We also work in your community providing sexual health information and advice, free condoms and lube and provide regular outreach in bars and clubs throughout Tayside.

We currently support people with physical and learning disabilities, mental health, autism, homelessness and drug and alcohol dependencies.

Hillcrest Futures Young People’s Services Dundee work with young people aged 12-18 to support them through any experiences with drugs, alcohol or sexual health. Our services are free and confidential, and our team are friendly and non-judgemental. We provide focused one-to-one support, as well as drop-ins, group education and we can also provide more intensive support where necessary. Whether you’re worried about yourself, a friend or someone in your family, we’re here to help.

Drugs and Alcohol Service

We offer one-to-one support specific to your individual needs which focuses on harm reduction strategies, as well as information and support so you can make safer choices.

Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenthood Service

We provide education and support to young people so they can make safer choices for their sexual, emotional and social wellbeing. We also offer the CCard, free condoms and information about pregnancy and STI testing.

NHS Tayside School Nursing Service

School Nurses across NHS Tayside,(Perth & Kinross, Angus and Dundee) work with school age children and young people who have been referred into the service. They offer support around various issues including substance misuse, emotional health, sexual health and abuse.



The School Nurse referral form can be completed for any child, young person or family wishing to access support by a teacher in the school.



Young people over the age of 12 years can also self- refer into the service, the young person can be supported by education staff, parent/carer, trusted adult or a school nurse to complete a referral.



Guidance staff have contact details for the appropriate School Nursing team for each school.



School Nurses support children and young people by promoting health and well- being and assisting children and young people to achieve their full potential.

SH&BBV Training Programme

Our training is available for clinical & non-clinical professionals across all agencies and where appropriate volunteers, other members of the public & specific groups. Currently, our training courses are only available to participants within the area of Tayside.

All our training will:

-be undertaken by skilled and confident trainers
-be based on the best epidemiological and research evidence available
-be evaluated and updated accordingly
demonstrate gender sensitive practice
address inequalities
-be multi-faceted and delivered through appropriate partnership working arrangements

LINC Young People's Sexual Health Service

If you are 18 or under and need to attend the sexual health clinic for anything, you may feel more comfortable attending the Monday LINC clinic. This is a clinic specifically for young people under the age of 18 years.

The staff that work at this clinic are non judgemental and will treat you with respect and you will be given a service just like as anyone over 18 years would receive.

Linc offers young people a full range of contraception and sexual health services; contraceptive pill, injection, patch, implant, emergency contraception pregnancy testing, STI screening and treatment.

Linc follows the child protection policy of sexual and reproductive health clinic, meaning that the young people's confidentiality will be preserved unless the young person has been harmed or has previously agreed to pass on any information.

Due to Coronavirus, the young people’s service on Monday 4-6pm at Drumhar Health Centre is available for priority booked appointments only. Please do not drop-in.
